Adding a volume
Use the add button on the toolbar to open the Add dialog.

The Add dialog: size and mount point on the left, initial folders on the right
Options
- Size. The volume is thin and consumes memory only as it fills, so the nominal size costs nothing until used. The dialog shows free RAM; leave headroom for the OS and other processes.
- Drive letter and label. The mount point and the volume name shown in Explorer.
- Compression. Off, fast, normal or maximum. Reduces the memory footprint of compressible data at some CPU cost. See Compression.
- Image file. If the path exists, its contents are loaded at mount; if not, the volume is bound to that path for later saves. See Image files.
- Create folders. Folders created at mount, for example Temp and Cache. Useful because consumers may expect their directory to exist, and a fresh volume is empty on every mount.
- Create automatically at startup. Recreates the volume at boot without the application running.
- Save contents to the image at shutdown. Image-backed volumes only. Writes the volume to its image at shutdown and dismount. See Image files.
Advanced

Advanced options: system folders and periodic save
- Do not create a Recycle Bin or other system folders. Deletions in Explorer are permanent rather than moved to a Recycle Bin. Recommended for scratch and temporary volumes.
- Save contents every N minutes. Periodic save to the bound image. Applies only to image-backed volumes. See Image files.
